I can't send emails, Please Help!

I am not able to send other members emails by clicking on there usernames. Everytime I try this window pops up:

Sorry! That user has specified that they do not wish to receive emails. If you still wish to send an email to this user, please contact the administrator and they may be able to help.

I am a platinum member, so I should have full usage of this website, right?

NO you are wrong....the user can decide on their own rather or not you can send them emails....so its on them...nothing you can do about it

I understand that each user can choose whether or not to accept emails, but this feature doesn't work even if that's not the case. I have tried to send emails to a countless # of members with no success. I am certain some of them had to have their settings to "You can allow other members to send you email messages". In fact, I'd bet that anyone that sees this thread is not going to be able to send me an email, and I have my settings set at "You can allow other members to send you email messages".

So why in the hell would they even give the option to send other members messages via email if it doesn't work? When I wrote the administrators the only answer they had was to ask the member for there address. Seems a little time consuming to me, but I guess I am the only member with this complaint. If that is the case, I can see why the administrators wouldn't bother to correct that function.

It's turned off in the control panel, but the software is too stupid to stop offering the option; it doesn't realize it's turned off until someone tries to use it.

But it's just as well it doesn't work. Heck, we have people here who report mail about followups to THEIR OWN POSTS as spam.
