I need to find another tricep movement for the 5x5 excercise. I was thinking of making skull crushers my main. My wrists hurt too badly when i do close grip and i never feel good isolation. Need better results. toss some ideas my way plz

Dips.. Dumbell Military Press...Diamond PushUps (make a diamond with your hands)...Pushdowns...i duno any of those...i prefer dips/db military press/diamond pushups

lying dumbell triceps extensions are great. (Like lying barbell extension, aka skull crushers, but with the dumbells your wrists have total freedom, and you can individualize the angle of each wrist to avoid pain.

Also may try reverse grip bench, these are good too.

And everything mentioned above too. :)

or instead of a EZ bar...try a "T" bar...for tri's...works well too...i rotate that in every so often

Skull crushers on an incline bench. Thats one of my favorites for triceps. Not sure what it is, but doing them on an incline bench takes stress off my elbow jonts.

yeah those diamond pushups are fuckin sexy. throw some 45's on your back and you've got a great workout. and you can "lockout" with a little more power too. i've done pushups with my hands close to do triceps, except in the manner chad waterbury discribed in this article: http://www.t-mag.com/nation_articles/192push.html

hey majutsu, is that serge nubret in your display pic? i think he's got the most impressive physique i've ever seen everything is so well proportional. he should have won everything. fuck mass, it's all about your likeness to a greek god.

Crushers on an incline bench? I never tried that, sounds like something to check out. I do them on a flat bench and bring them way behind my head and up to a 45 degree angle. Love them! Also, one arm extensions work great for me as well.

Yes, grab an incline bench and keep your upper arms verticle, then bring the weight just behind your head. (if your arms are long enough to do and keep your upper arms vertical) Just about the time the weight gets to forhead level it's time to do a pause if you're going to and then squeeze back up.

Since I learned how to do those I don't use any other type of skull crushers. These HAMMER me.

sounds great, whats better is my gym has a cable skull crusher machine to keep continuous pressure on my tris for one of the extra 10,8 tri sets. and i can do incline ez bar skull crushers for my 5x5 :)

just a hint. close grip means closer than your normal bench grip. get your forearms DIRECTLY under your hands and tuck your elbows, your wrists should be absolutely neutral and you shouldnt feel anything. i think you are just setting up too narrow. if your wrists are cocked outward, thats why it hurts.

i find them way easier on my elbows. plus i can handle more weight. the carryover to my bench seems like a perpetuating circle, more tri, more bench, more shoulder.

yes, btw, that is serge in my avatar. He's my role model/inspiration for this. I think he's the tops too. I see, in pumping iron, why arnold won that year, as his back and pecs were phenomenal, but serge clearly can have it most years just as easily . . .
