I just found out that I may have been exposed to HPV. The virus that causes genital warts. You have no idea how scared I am right now. I have not slept in days. I'm going to see my doc tommorrow to be referred to a specialist. My ex just had a LEEP procedure performed to remove pre cancerous lesions. They told her that while she did not have the virus, she was exposed to it by anyone of her partners. We've been together for 2 years. I can only assume it was me. I honestly have been so careful my whole life, that this is going to blow my mind if I have it. The doc said it could have been transmitted by any partner in her past. If anyone can give me advice, what to ask the doc, personal experiences (this can be emailed, I know its a touchy subject)or anything it would be appreciated. I don't know how I"m going to make it if I have this. I'm not looking for sympathy right now. I just want some advice. I know this is a shitload to drop on complete strangers but I don't know where else to turn. You guys/gals have been so helpful to many others in the past. Thanks.

I just went through tests a few weeks ago cause someone claimed I gave them an STD. Needless to say I was freaked for a few days leading to seeing the dr. my blood work and everything came back ok.

just take it easy, and don't get stressed cause it's probably nothing wrong with you.

Saw my doc yesterday. Let me tell you about the faith I now have in the u.s. medical community. ZERO! I researched the net to see what tests they have for this and learned of 4 (digene test, immunofluresence, blood test, vinegar ) She tells me that none of them will offer conclusive proof I have anything and that I have to go through life NOT KNOWING and just being paranoid that I may infect someone or may not. Sorry, that's not how I want to live. I have no signs or symptoms but that doesn't mean jack. I've emailed a doc with experience in the area and am waiting to hear what he says. This crappy HMO has me locked into a "primary care physician" so I'm thinkin if I want a second opinion, I gotta change docs.
Txcollegeguy: thanks for the reassurance, but I am alittle paranoid about my health in general. Especially this time cuz I've been with this girl for two years. However, every doc and web site i've come into contact with says two things: guys rarely show signs and it can lay dormant for years.
Don't know if anyone cares to hear this shit, but I gotta air it somehow. thanks.
