^bran I was hyp'ed by a proffessional in a clinical setting...I was willing but it just didn't work, I felt no different, other than mildly relaxed (proly cause I was rocked back on a leather chair). I'm more hy'ed staring at this geigh screen than I was in Dr.Scamracket's office

only about 25%-33% of people can go fully under their first try, they are called naturals

believe it or not it is something that you get better at with practice

I believe that...being comfortable around the hyp dude is benefical as well...you could scam a lot of boobies if your shady

thanks bran.... any links explaning how this works in the clinical setting?

I've seen the stage stuff actually work on a group of people. It is bizzare.

One guy was one of my best friends and he did not remember a thing that he did on stage.

Nothing like the fair stuff but it was pretty cool.

ancid, that is stage hypnotism

as far as clinical hypnotism

you will not to anything under hypnosis that you don't willfully deep down want to do, which is why things like making someone sign over their insurance isn't possible, but quitting smoking is.

it is simply an altered state, a temporary suspension of disbelief, much like when you go to the movies.

you aren't asleep during hypnosis, you are awake, but your concious mind is not in the way chattering at you. your subconcious mind, which is the part of you that actually controls everything you do even though you think you are conciously making decisions, can then take new commands and make them part of your concious everyday life.

if you don't want to be hypnotized, and you resist the induction, it will not work.

it's real though

you go in and out of hypnosis all day every day, watching TV.. driving down the highway.. you constantly slip in and out of mild alpha and beta states

Where'd you get your knowledge of hypnotism from Bran.

I've tried self -hypnosis a couple of times, havnt had any great success with it though. I always have a nagging voice in my mind telling me that it's just not working.
