I usually hunt everything, deer,duck,goose,moose,bear,coyote,turkey. havent gone out at all in two years since my kid has been born.
 
I hunt form September to February. Ducks to squirrels to deer and hogs. Most of the meat my family eats is something I've shot to eat. Heck I rase feeder steer every year.
 
Bow and rifle :) just set up my ground blind yesterday although only deer and goat right now due to being stationed in Hawaii
 
I'm back in the stand again, hoping to have better luck than this morning. I'm hoping to get a monster buck but truth be known if slick head walks out she's in trouble

Good luck in the afternoon hunt. What part of the country do you hunt? Me I'm a Texas boy south and central tx. Along with a trip some other state when I can.

I'm going to a place in Center,Tx this weekend. Its a free thing for me one of my venders is taking me. I'll check on the price. I have hunted a day place out side of Wheeler,Tx that's hogs only. I want to say it was 500 for an all day 2 hog bag limit. They gave us free run on piglets anything under 50lbs was free. I'll check on the name of that place.

it's definitely in full-swing here...the bucks are fucking stupid...walking right down the middle of the road and shit like they're prone to do when they're all shined-up.
 
Killed my limit in ducks on saturday morning and an 8 point on Sunday

8 was shitty though, not trophy quality. Gonna try again this weekend

my brother in law shot two bucks last week. we found neither. then he shot a small 8 yesterday. he may have lost his hunting spot with us

What a fgt. I am pissed I squeezed on the 8 I shot this weekend but oh well. Game cam has showed a few decent looking racks and as stupid as they've been acting around here lately it won't be long before I bag another.

If all else fails I'll just go outlaw and blast one on a highline some drunken night and do the processing myself...

we always do the cutting ourselves...usually fire up the grill while the beast is still warm and start tossing steaks on and drinking beer while we're butchering...doesn't get any better than that.

Lol I was jk I hate poachers. They're the reason for half the damn restrictions here in TX. Our conservation efforts here are pretty much overwhelmed due to how much open space we have vs. the amount of Rangers and Game Wardens on staff.

I want to start, going to apply for my license. Trying to pick my first gun I was thinking 30-06 or Remington 700
 
I use a range of guns. If is really thick woods I use a 30-30, if I have a long clear shot ill use a 270 or a 7 msm

That's exactly what I use (Remington 700 30-06). I've had it for probably close to 15 years and it hasn't failed me yet, other than ammo issues. Its tried and true. You don't need a $1500 set up to put meat in the freezer/trophies on the wall.

Don't go cheap on your glass though. Spend at least a few hundred on your scope and you'll be plenty happy with it.

You should be paying more for glass than the gun
 
My last rem 700 I set up with some nice glass. Schmidt & Bender well worth the coin at past 300 yds. I mostly hunt with bow.
 
I'm out in clay county. I use a 30-06 for rifle and a diamond fugitive for bow... Although 30-06 is pretty much over kill for anything in fla.
 
Yea bow hunting is definitely a huge rush for me. My little brother shoots squirrels to keep up his aim off season lol.
