I generally lurk around here, but need someone to take a look at the HST routein I have put together. What anything obvisouly missing? I have exercises grouped by body part, not the order exercises will be preformed in. I am thinking I need another chest exercise, and possibly drop the incline press.
front squat
Good Mornings
calf raise
flat bench press
incline press
bb row
pulldown
shurgs
seated military
bb curl
skull crusher
Much thanks for your time.
Ok, I'm a young pedowan of Cassualbb and JohnnyCoho. I'm finishing up my second HST tomorrow. I'll put my imput in, and hopefully one of the two will take heed and post.
Squats- Just do regular in my opinion. I think when the weight gets heavy front squats might be too awkward. I feel that true (bar on traps) is the "mans" squat.
Romanian Deadlifts or SL Deadlifts for the hammies. You don't want to cause an imbalance between the quads and hammies. That's a nono. I do Romanian deadlifts in a strength fashion jsut because I have never done them before. I like them very much though.
Bench Press: Just warm up well with these if doing them before inclines. When the weights get heavy, the heavy volume of workouts definately takes a huge toll on the shoulders if they aren't "warm" before lifting. LAst cycle I had periods of pure pain just because I didn't warm up well before these when the heavy weights came.
Incline Press: I do both flat and incline. My chest is a lot bigger down and very dense. I see no problem with doing both. If shoulders start to hurt, take one out.
Good Mornings: I wouldn't do them, but that is just me. I think the dead lifts have strengthed my back even though they are a "hamstring" excercise.
BB Row: Good call, I do these with cables.
LAt Pull Downs: I do these also. Please, and I do mean please, warm up first with these. They will kill your shoulders if you do these behind your head without warming up properly.
Barbell Shrugs: I've seen great gains with these using HST. Madcow is probably right about that excercise, but he is "mad." He does some "insane" stuff that I couldn't do just because Im too pusified. He definately knows his stuff though.
Seated Military Curls: Drop these definatly. They will only hurt you in the long run using HST. The inclines and flat bench is enough for now.
Skull Crushers: I haven't done these using HST, but I would either do weighted dips or close grip. Your call bro.
Calf Raises: Mine put like .75 inch on with 1-2 cycles. I haven't measure lately but I was born with chicken legs.
Dont forget to train abs. People debate on whether or not to train these with HST. I don't know. I did and didnt' for a while. It's your call. I can't say which I benefited from the most. I dunno.
Some wide grip pull ups every once in a while wont hurt either.
Everything else looks good bro. I really hope this helps you out. Like I said, I am finishing up my second cylce tomorrow. I will continue lifting for strength for the next six weeks because I have field training coming up next summer and although I love being bigger, I need some extra hard strenghthed muscles prepared for it.
