HRT/TRT Sourcing Information

I agree, your best bet is to say you play with kids a lot and therefore are concerned on transferring to them. Several of my friends said that and it worked.

Just prescribed Axiron today - will keep everyone posted with results.

Dosage is 60mg per day for the next 6 months and then go back in for blood work.

Underarm test cream. Never heard of it, but sounds interesting. Keep us posted.

Yep, and it burns like a motherfucker!!! It actually says on the box that it is flammable, and to avoid smoking or being around fire until it dries... That's a comforting thought...

I had never heard of it either. I have the most antisocial, downright evil urologist in the history of the profession, so debating with him regarding injections over topical solution was not an option. lol

My prescribed dosage is 60mg per day, and I actually created a thread awhile ago asking if that 420mg of topical test per week is equivalent to 420mg of Test Cyp/Enan, or if the dosages are not equal since one is topical and one IM.

I think most of the gels have a 10% absorption rate so I would assume (maybe incorrectly) Axiron would be similar. The quick search I did on Axiron did not produce very favorable results. Even at higher dosages like 90mg only got you to the maybe the mid 500 range (if their own literature is even correct). Axiron looked like once of the worse choices your doc could have made. I'll let you make that decision though. Do a search for Axiron reviews or Axiron absorption rates.

Axiron is just an armpit fire for me. On top of it my levels didn't budge, same as androgel. Only shots work for me. Axiron is over 300 a month and I know my doctor gets kickbacks for Axiron, Androgel, and Testopel. Guess which three were the only drugs he would script for? HAd to get my GP to get my test scripts(I am oversimplifying how much work it took to get a script for inj).

Thanks for the (rather depressing) info tshoot... ;)

Let's hope it works favorably for me...

So, with a 10% absorption rate, what does that mean in terms of absorption of the 60mg of test I'm prescribed? Does that mean I'm only absorbing 10% of the drug, or am I interpreting that incorrectly?

Thanks again...

I have read some favorable reviews on it too but also some with almost zero benefit or their T levels dropped below what they were prior to using Axiron. Use it for a couple of weeks and have your levels checked again. If you aren't satisfied with what he has to say, find somebody else.

You never did say what your bloodwork results were? Do you mind sharing that info?

They were frighteningly low. In fact, the doc had a second series of blood work done to rule out a tumor on my pituitary gland.

Total test was 149nl/Dl and free test was 68nl/Dl, which was hard to believe considering I'm 6' 0" and 210lbs.

Don't feel so bad. My doc said the same thing.

My values from LabCorp were:

Total test: 41 on a scale of 348-1197
Free test: 1.9 on a scale of 6.8-21.5
Estradiol: 11.9 on a scale of 7.6-42.6

Thyroid levels were all low. He thought the same thing, pituitary gland problem but I just haven't had the time to get myself fully checked.

I'm 5'9 about 185 and workout out fairly regularly. Have a six pack that shows if I flex or diet down about 10 pounds. But had zero energy, couldn't sleep and almost zero libido (could be the fact I've been with the same person for 36 years). ;-)
