I've heard of HRT clinics charging rediculous rates...They draw you in by saying whatever you want to hear..
Its not unreasonable to be expected to pay your doctor visit and blood work, but there are some crazy other fees that get tacked on in most cases.
A monitoring fee? ....I've heard of one company charging $900 to simply be monitored.
And then an inflated prescription rate. Crazy stuff. A $150 item going for >$300 is not a shock to me.
Recently I've found an established HRT company who appears too good to be true. Planning a trial run in the near future, but I'll keep you guys posted. If I'm to believe what I'm told, the only costs are: blood work, maybe a doctor visit, a $35 prescription fee, and shipping for medicine. If this is true, everyone with a medical need can afford hrt and not be gouged.
I'm optimistic. ...I'll be reporting back if everything pans out.
