No matter what type of rows i'm doing, whether it be bar bell rows, t bar rows, cable rows or any other kind of row, i always feel it more in my triceps than in my back. I have yet to have a sore upper back after a back workout. I know soreness is not indicative of growth but it seems i should have at least SOME soreness. The one time i felt anything in my back was last week when I did 50 pullups. And I was soar for the rest of the week after that. But even when I do pullups for 3xfailure, i dont really feal it in my back. What gives?

Wierd... Maybe you have been overtraining your arms? Personally i cant say i feel any strain on my triceps when doing rowing movements.

You must be using your arms too much... i use to get the same problem and i got sore in my biceps before i feel anything in my back.. flex your lats and work with that... try very light first.

think of your arms as hooks and try to move your elbows up. It's more of a bicep/brachialis/brachioradialis exercise though...although the tricep long head does adduct.

try to bring your shoulder blades together and squeeze when you think your close, concentration and form are the most important things, not the weight!!!

Pats is also right. Most begining and intermediate bodybuilders have piss poor lats because they don't actualy use their lats as the primary movers doing rows. If you feel the burn more in any other muscle than you do in you back, you need to slow down, and focus more on stretching and contracting the lats on each rep.
I've switched to one arm dumbells rows as my primary lat exercise (next to deadlifts of course), with others being alternated around used as secondary movements. This is because the nature of the movement allows for less cheating, and you can really focus on the lats so much more. I've also noticed that alot of the big bodybuilders that have great lats rely heavily on this lift, even if the magazines claim that so and so uses others (ie Ronnie Coleman to name one).
