Howard Stern going to Sirius Satellite radio in $100MM deal

Good. Stern is past his prime, but, good to see free enterprise geting around the FCC assholes.

Bran, you know Howard is going to change Satellite radio. Do you think Sirius stock would be a good investment? I don't know much about the market. I have almost everything in real estate.lol

An analyst on TV this morning said Sirius would have to add 1 million subscribers for this to be "a good deal" for them. I believe Howard has around 20 million now so that is a 5% conversion rate to pay radio. However, not included in that 20 million are people like huckleberry finaplix who are in markets Howard isn't in now. It's nationwide now. I do believe it is a good investment long term, he signed a new 5 year contract. In fact I had my little brother buy the stock (and some XMSR) 8 months ago so he is a happy kid today.

I should clarify the $100MM is the annual cost associated with bringing Stern over for staff, construction etc.. I don't know what his compensation will be but I know it includes revenue sharing and stock

Sounds great for him and the show but we don't have satelitte radio in cars yet up here.

I have Opie and Anthony on XM. I think they put a better show on then Stern. Satellite radio is one of the best investments I have made.
Superqt: They have XM radios [Sirius too] that can be put in your car, home, etc. You get the adapter for whereever you're putting it. I have on XM radio with a car adapter, adapter for my room, [those are stationary] and a 3rd adapter for whereever I may go [my expedient one]. www.xmradio.com
