How would a physical job affect a beginner's (me) workout

Hello

So i got a job at a warehouse for the summer (im in university) where i will work for 4 days a week. This warehouse job does require alot of lifting and im wondering how badly would it affect my workout. After doing a bunch of research, i have recently started Rippetoe's 3 x 5 and if i have my diet in check, do you think my job would cause my work out to become useless or will i still gain most or all of the benefits?

Thanks for your help.

Plus, is there anyone else here that has a physical job and works out? I really wanna hear your opinion.

When I was working with UPS doing unloading, I didn't notice any difference with my performance in the gym.... well, other than my biceps. At first, my biceps were somewhat sore from lifting boxes continuously for 5 hours per day. I had a hard time doing military presses and had to go a little easier on my biceps while in the gym with less reps. After a month or two the problem vanished.
