How to pull off a shaved head.

I just buzzed my head to #1 and it looks great. I am 6'2'' and 215lb and I am considering shaving it off all the way in the near future.

IMO if you're going to shave your head I recommend a few tidbits to avoid looking like a tard:

1) If you're unsure of as to the number of dents in your skull and how you may look, before you take the razor to it, crop it with a #1 gaurd with a buzzer (about 3mm) That will allow you to accurately see your skull and in case it really is bad, will save you a few extra days in growing it back before it gets covered back up. Otherwise proceed to tip 2.

2) mach 3, Mach 3, MACH 3! This cannot be stressed enough. Other alternatives include the Mach 3 Turbo, Power or Fusion, however I wouldn't spend the money on those lame gimmicks unless someone else buys them for you.

3) Aloe is your friend. Aloe is key.

4) Though it's November now, don't shave your head for the first time in the middle of summer. There is nothing more idiotic than a white guy with a tanned face and a pale skull.

5) This cant' be stressed enough, if you are white, do weigh at least 180, and do sport some facial hair in any variation of a goatee that suits you. Chicks don't do guys who look like cancer patients.

After following all these tips and instructions go out and compliment your new hairstyle (or lack thereof) with a pair of ass kicking sunglasses. You'd be surprised how many people get intimidated/show respect to the that look.

Something about it just tells people that you shouldn't be fucked with.

Bonus points if your facial hair is thick enough to pull off a T-bar.

What do you think, shaved heads?

I did it a three years ago all the way.
I thought I was going bald, and I always said I'd shave it as soon as that happened.

My girlfriend at the time really didn't like it, and even though I got some good feedback from other girls, I never felt that comfortable with it and so I grew it back pretty quickly. The interim stage between bald and normal haircut can look terrible.

The point is - give it a shot; it will grow back. Even if you think it doesn't suit you, don't be afraid to go out and show it - there's bound to be mixed feelings on it (parents / grandparents likely won't like it), but give it enough of a chance to get feedback from a variety of people.

Two recommendations: First, if you aren't balding too badly, use clippers rather than a blade, especially if you won't be growing facial hair. Second, don't do it at all if you aren't reasonably big (I'm 6'2, 215).

you pulled off your head?

you are right about how people with shaved heads do tend to get respect.

i must say though, if you are fat and short and have a shaved head it wont work. ive seen a lot of real short fat security guards with shaved heads and i just kinda laugh, lol.

i wonder if i could pull it off. im about 170 and 5'8-5'9. im really pale though, lol. and i dont like the idea of having to have facial hair.

I had my head shaved bald for 10 years of my life.
I have hair now and I think there are benefits to both

About shaving your head in the summer, you'll quickly find that hair is a good insulator and it also wicks sweat away from your scalp. Without hair, the scalp gets all clammy when you sweat.

And don't shave it for the first time at night. A clean shaven head feels funny when you lay your head on your pillow and try to sleep.

i think it would be cool to ahve a chin strap all the way up to the top of ur head and have the very top shaved out like a bow so ur head looks like a present

I am shaved, head and face I only suggest a tan ... Yea and not for skinny guys.

lex luthor from the show smallville, pulls off a pretty good shaved head, and he's kinda skinny too. it seems like some could probably pull it off.

women tell me my hair is good. which sucks cuz i like to have my head shaved :( not completely shaved but like 1/8 - 1/2 inches long

i like a shaved head because when i sleep, i dont have to fix my hair afterwards when i wake up. i know, im incredibally lazy. but its nice.

im just not a guy for taking showers or washing my hair in the morning. save that stuff for later in the day when i got more energy.

which one?
people LOVE to rub my shaved head.

which, quite often, leads to the OTHER shaved head getting "rubbed".... :p  :artist:

True. I shaved my head a few years ago in the evening and when I went to bed it felt like I was laying on a rubber ball...

Head shaved since '88. Goatee in place as well. 6'1", 215 and growing. Oh and LOTS of tatts. The tattoos really seal the deal.

yeah. if you feel like being ostracized.

Doesn't bother me at all. I could care less what people think. Not like I wouldn't get shit from average people just for being larger than average.
