How to improvise PL equipment

People have given me and others many tips on how to construct your own equipment on a budget. It occurred to me that maybe having one thread that talks about equipment -- boards, what to make them from, how to secure them if working alone, making boxes, sleds, homemade reverse hypers and GHR machines -- and probably lots of stuff that I don't know enough to think of might be useful for people.

For instance (can't remember who said this but recently read it) someone suggested using two old belts to secure boards as opposed to the two tee shirt method.

Hannibal once advised me to use aerobic steps for boxes.

I think Bfold posted how to make a reverse hyper at home awhile back.

Others have suggested wheelbarrows in lieu of sleds if you can't make one/have one made.

So if you have suggestions (and if this has been done before, sorry!) let's hear them.

Another suggestion for a box is a milk crate. If it is too low, then just put a 45lb plate or two on top of it.
...chad...

Ah, that's what I'm talking about! Thanks! I remember reading your suggestion now, but it's hard to remember everything and where I saw it. I'm making up my stuff now and searching threads, which is what made me think .... hey, wouldn't it be great if this was all in one place?

For board press, I found some wooden blocks in my basement, and got enough so that stacked together they were the right height for my bench sticking point. Then I just wrapped some tape around them. I've been putting them under my shirt for stability, but I might start just taping them to my shirt.

in high school i had a welding class, and i was able to make to sleds for around 25 bucks. all you need is two large peices of sheet metal, and some 1 inch round stock, and a welder.

i doubt alot of people have a welder available. but why not go to your local high schools see if they have a welding class, and see if some of the students would make your a sled. youll both benefit from it, it will be cheap for you, and its a good first project for a kid, and so so easy to make.

Woo hoo! Keep 'em coming, people!

I will type these all into one post (with credits) once the thread dies.

The farmer's handles that SK,PolishHammer,T3c and the gang made and use are real nice. Not too mention the other devices theyve made.Their feedback would be perfect for this thread!!

hey man, we actually didnt make the farmers...we bought em

We made a duck walk and a bunch of other things with piping though. Just a "T" connector and some 1.5 inch pipe with a end cap and you got one
