How to describe the haircut I want?

I've just recently been looking around, trying to find a new look since I've had the same one for a while, and I've found a couple but I'm not really sure how to describe one when I go to get my hair cut. If any of you have something similar to these two cuts, I would really appreciat your input:

The first one I found on Supercuts website, and I think it's basically the short cut I might get.

The cut I'm looking at is the short spiky look. It's five down from the top with the words "This short trend cut has lots of attitude; play it up with equally informal facial hair". Now I don't have the facial hair but I think the cut still might look good.

The last cut is the longer style I like. It's from Matt Damon in Dogma and pics of it can be found here:

The cuts are kinda on different ends of the spectrum but I haven't decided which one I like better. I would really appreciate any input whether it's which one you think would look better on a teenage kid or how to explain em. Thanks in advance!

yeah man, the first one is certainly cool. looks like he's got pomade on it. that shit will stick it up good. besides, it's trendy, fashionable and does have attitude!! go with it!

are you serious man? it is your hair, i cut mine myself. i just keep it all long, down to my eyes in the front, earlobes on the side, and long in the back but so it doesnt look like a mullet and just throw a hat on. i cut it myself with a pair of scissors. you put way too much thought into your hair. i have sideburns down to my jaw line too, i just trim them when i shave everyday.

Lumbuss, I guess I do put some thought into my hair, but that is only because I want to make sure it looks good. Not sayin that if you don't put thought into it it looks bad, but for me just trimmin it myself and forgettin about it, it never comes out well. I don't think I could cut it myself into the style I want either.

i get more admiring comments, from girls and guys, with no hair than i did with any other hair style i tried.
