How risky is it to carry a small amount of gear on a domestic interstate flight?

I just want it make it clear though, im not saying you wont get caught with gear by the proper authorities because there is always a chance of anything happening in life. But Im just telling you that the risk is not as high as it seems

If they randomly selected your bag, they were looking for bombs etc, they are not looking for drugs because they do not screen luggage for anything like that. Secuirty does not have the power to take away your gear or anything like that, they probably wouldnt even know what it is. If they wanted to, they can call cops, but only on there own time, and not on the time of the companies because it is not there duty. If they found a gun, a bomb or some sort of wepon, that would be a differnt story. If it were customs who checked you bag, then you would be in trouble, but not with airport security. BTW do not take syringes with you on you carry on, because it will be confiscated since it is a sharp object.

Bro, Id advise against flying in the US because you have no clue about what goes on at US airports. Do you really think that the airport is only staffed with $7 and hour airport security? They may be the ones searching you at the entrance to the terminal but there are real cops and the National Guard all over the airport.

They may be only looking for bombs and weapons, but you will still get in trouble for any contraband. Who do you think found the bag of marijuana in Whitney Houstons bag when she got arrested at an airport? Who do you think comes to take you off a plane if you cause trouble? Do you know how long it would take a cop in a major metropolitan city to get to the airport by calling 911? They dont call the local cops and wait for them to arrive, they are already in the airport. It would take forever if they werent already there.

And if airport security cant take your stuff or detain you then what the hell would keep you from just leaving?

I know the cops are already at the airport. But chances are if they talk to you, they are not going to check your bag. When a cop stops you at the airport, he will ask for your id etc and then they would radio it in to the station to see if your an ex con or have any warrents out etc. When Whitney got busted with her weed it was probably with customs, not airport secuirty. The point im just trying to make is, if all you go through is secuirty ( which is the most likely scenario ) you do not have to worry about much

Ill end this by saying we agree to disagree. Ive flown in the US six times since Sept and you do have to worry about flying with contraband.

BTW, Whitney Houston was caught in Hawaii. Actual police were not at the airport at the time of her arrest and her and Bobby Brown refused to wait for them to arrive. The plane was allowed to take off, although no one from the airport or the state could explain why. So you are right about airport security hired by the airlines not having the power to detain you. Another security force in the airport did have the power to detain but didnt due to her "star power."

This was in Jan 2000 though and things in US airports have changed dramatically. So even though, technically, the $7/hour security guard cant detain you, the National Guardsman with the M-16 standing behind him can. And she was eventually charged in Sept of 2000 with possession of marijuana. So if you want to take your chances, dont let me stop you.

so on an east coast flight, say for around a week, you guys are saying that there isnt anyway to get the gear from your house to your destination safely?
there has to be a way to hide the darts and the oils......has to be.........

I carried gear on a flight once without any problems, but that was before the added the tighter security. They can problably strip search you at an airport now if they want to, although unlikely. If you decide to take it, DON'T carry it onboard. Get you a small vial and put the winny in that. Put it in a big suitcase with lots of clothes and shit. Do not put any metal in the suitcase that might make a metal detector go off. What are the odds that they will spot a little bottle in a big ass suitcase in an x-ray machine? They have hundreds of suit cases to x-ray. When you get to where you are going, go buy you some pins at a pharmacy. If they don't sell them over the counter in that state, go to a feed store. I would think this would be the best way although you still run a slight risk of being caught. BamBam
