How quickly do you lose weigh on ckd

I'm at day 4 and while I'm not fretting yet, I'm kinda just curious. Usually when I diet, I lose 5-6 lbs right off the bat due to water loss, etc. But I've been stuck at 220 all week. Ketostix tell me I'm in moderate ketosis (not using nyc or ala) so the problem isn't there. I have all the "symptoms" of ketosis, ie losing endurance, little dizzy after an intense lift, etc.....What do ya'll think?

I'm not worrying yet, just curious.....I'll start worrying next friday when it's been 2 weeks :)

Everyone has different results. However, you can expect to lose a great deal of weight by the end of the first week due to water loss. Personally I have lost about 12 lbs total in 4 weeks. I would attribute most of that to water but there is some DEFINITE fat reduction. I've always been under teh impression that you can't lose much more than 1 lb of fat/week

Right, I always assumed that too...1-2lbs of fat a week.

BUT like I said, I'm a tad worried b/c usually I lose 5-6 lbs of water weight immediately but so far I've been sitting at 220...weird.

Well my first week i lost 5 lbs...gained it all back after carb up. I dont know the ratio to fat lost vs muscle vs water tho. I'm hoping I am actually losing a lb of fat while puttin on some muscle, that would explain the roadblock on the scale.

i was 236ish before i started 4 weeks ago,,now on the 5th week on my carb up im 230, about 5 pounds less during the keto days

so for me its 6 pounds in 4 weeks

Are you in a caloric defecit?

Even though your are in ketosis, you won't lose a pound unless you're in a caloric defecit. A good starting point is your body weight x 12= BMR, Calories per day. Then -10%/15% of that. But it all depends on your bio-mechanics. Everybody is different. Moreover, as with any diet keto or whatever it all comes down to calories in verses calories out.

Give it a couple of weeks and let us know how you made out.

Good luck Bro...

imgonna have to disagree mort, i did a ckd last spring on a cycle and didnt' count calories at all. i ate as much as i wanted as long as i shot for ~2grams fat/1 gram protein.

in 3 months i went from 230 - 205 while putting on some pretty nice musclemass. i have known a few people who have done ckd but tried to cut back on their fat intake. they didnt' lose any weight until they added in the fats. maybe i was just lucky on my diet... i've started the same diet 2 wks ago and haven't dropped anthing on the scale but can noticably ree a reduction in fat in a few areas. like u said, everyone is differnet though and we gotta find out what works best for us.
