I run on the beach and I love it..... the sand is packed down so its just like running on the road...

I like it in the winter on a clear night. The cold is unbearable and there is something so poignant about the ocean in the winter at night. Maybe that is what death will feel like and I fight it every time I am out there running.

Running is a spiritual event for me.

Since living down here in the hot humid south? Hardly ever.. I used to do all my running outside when I lived up north though.

95% of my cardio is outside right now.

I am accruing a huge pile of magazines to read as this is usually one of my X-trainer/bike/treadmill activities.

If I start running outdoors now in the morning, it is quite easy to keep it up all winter.

I like running up in the Scottish hills 2-3 times a week, the isolation & scenery is great motivation.
Nice! During my youth I did a lot of fell running, rock climbing and camping in Scotland. It was my family’s annual home holiday destination, many fond memories of endless rain, swarms of midges, sweaty cheese sandwiches, kendal mint cake and village pubs. Agreed the scenery is stunning, happy times.

I should run outside. its quite beautiful to run along the boardwalk or beach here, and its right in my backyard.

but i hate running. i hate running on a treadmill worse because i feel like a fuckin hampster. so i just play basketball

can work on my tan, improve my game, have fun and do cardio all at once

Fortunately I'm less than a mile from the hills. It's absolutely great whether it's sunny or pissing down with rain (visibility reduced to <100m, adds to the isolation & fun. Other than having to concentrate more on your footing, you really don't want a twisted ankle or worse that far from any help, heh).

Likewise, fucking hate getting eaten alive by those damn midges :D

Posing in hawt pics on the beach is not cardio...but we'll enjoy the pics anyway!
