How often are you sore?

I was just wondering how many bro's work out so hard every time at the gym that they are sore on a regular basis??
Also should you be sore after a real good chest workout ie. does pain equal gain or , does that mean that you are waiting too long between workouts???

u should not be getting sore every workout your reps r to high lower your reps use heavy weight dont go to failure u will be less sore and u will be bigger...

I used to be sore all the time, but not very big or strong. Since quitting that Mike Mentzer Heavy Duty crap and taking up Westside powerlifting training, I am hardly ever sore, and I have become a lot bigger and a Hell of a lot stronger.

I used to think muscle soreness and size gains were directly related, but I no longer beleive that. I am not a bodybuilder, but I am interested in hypertrophy, and have put an inch on my arms in the last 9 months, and over 100 lbs on my bench, and like I said, I am rarely sore nowadays.

I may be wrong, but I thought soreness was good. I wouldn't necessarily attribute it to too many reps either, although that may be the case for you. I went to the gym around 4ish today, and did some leg workout. All I did was 5 sets of squats - reps: 8-8-6-6-6 and 3 sets on the reverse thigh curl machine, at 8-6-6 reps. I upped my weight today, and right now my legs are quite sore, and feel like they're falling asleep. Theres no way you can tell me my reps are too high, and yet im sore.
I have personally always associated soreness with a good workout. Never to the point of pain.. that's probably not good, bute when your muscles are sore and stiff the next day, that's telling you that you're doing something right.

I hardly ever get sore.

I keep growing but I never get sore unless I take a week off from the gym. Then I will be sore the first time I work each body part and maybe a little the second time. It bothered me but I am getting bigger so I know that I am doing something right.

when i used to lift each bodypart twice a week, or even three times a week, i would never get sore for the most part. i lift each body part once a week now and usually feel at least some slight soreness from each workout. also for me my doms peaks two days after a workout.

Being sore has little to do with reps. you can get sore lifting low reps and high reps. It just depnds on how much damage you do to the muscle.

Intensity + changing routine (reps exercise) = sore muscles

sore muscles = muscle damage

muscle damage + food + gear = growth

growth = more puss.

therefore

Intensity + changing routine (reps exercise) = more puss!

when you work hard,(doesn't have to be in the gym) you get sore. the muscle gets damaged from the hard work. when the body heals itself it makes the muscle a little bit bigger, to not get damaged again. this is how your muscles grow. so how can you say its not good to be sore. yes you will still grow if you work out without getting sore. but the more damage you do the more you have to heal (BIGGER). so i'll keep my soreness.i'm always sore from something.no pain no gain.
