7/23/03 - FORT WORTH, TX) — Fort Worth police say a bank robber made a bad career move.
Detectives say the man who held up a Wells Fargo Bank branch on the city's east side wrote his holdup note on the back of his resume.
Police say 32-year-old Frederick McDowell had tried to hide the personal information by taping black construction paper over it. But then he forgot to retrieve the note and take it with him after slipping it to a teller. Police then just peeled the tape from the note.
A tip led police to a Fort Worth motel, where McDowell was arrested Saturday. He remains in federal custody on a bank robbery charge in the July 15th holdup.
