when you first got on a bench press

I think for me it was 95lbs, well I was reppin with it

this was my sophmore year in school and first year in USA, also the first time I started lifting, as a matter of fact our trainer for bball was a pro body builder if im not mistakin and he owned a gym so he taught us alot, than my jr year I moved to a different state where I pretty much gave up lifting till I made it to college

by the end of my sophmore year I was reppin with 135

is that considered a slow progress or not bad?

I think I put on a pair of 25lb plates the first time I tried benching, so that'd be 95lbs. That was at the beginning of grade 10. Was up to 135 ( feeling cool because I could put on the BIG plates...LOL) in no time flat though.

At 14 years old I needed a spot with the 45lb bar at 105-115lbs. This is why I think most, if not all of the "hardgainer" claims are complete bullshit. Sure its hard, but train hard and give it your all, eat like a motherfucker and you will see gains. My genetics werent anything great. I have good muscle shape and thats it. I grow very slow and my beginning strength was shit. It didnt take me long to rack all the machines though. It takes extreme drive and persistance which is something most lifters lack. But it can be done
