never had to get repairs done myself..usually my aprents took care of it. anyway, i gotta get my car fixed up a lil...just wondering what a balpark figure would be for the follwing repairs:

(3" x 3") scruff on the front bumper.
very small amout of rust around the trunk keyhole.

the car is a 97' mercedes. any ideas?

Hard to say cuz it depends on labor rates in your area- it ain't cheap here in California. A good shop will probably repaint the entire bumper & then go after that rust before repainting the whole trunk. Best thing to do is ask around for recommendations for quality body shops & then get 2-3 estimates to see what your up against.

Another option- a buddy of mine just found a company that comes to your house & does spot repairs at a reaonable price. If you have anything like that where you live it'd be worth a look.

hmm thanks for the advice. i dont think theyd have to repaint the entire trunk, its barely noticeable. anyway, would something like this be more than $500?

For both areas at a body shop- yea, probably. The problem w/ rust is that they have to clean up the surrounding area to make sure they've removed the rust entirely before filling, prepping, & re-painting- or it'll come back & you don't want that. Most shops will want to re-paint the entire panel because spot repairs are hard to hide & the color match can be tough. If your car is white or another easy color to match you may get lucky though.
Either way, all I can do is guess really. Good luck on those estimates...
