I have about 2000 cals consisting of 180-190protein 190-210 carbs and 30-40fat

so do i need more of everything?

At your age, a real strict diet isn't necessary for growth. Long as you keep your protein up, you should be ok.

But if you're not making any gains, I'd say to eat more by all means. I mean, you're still growing as well, so I see no reason to limit your calories.

you cant make maximum gains without gaining fat. Fat is used as a source of energy instead of burning muscle. Your best bet is to eat a high complex carb meal before practice so you burn that and not your muscle gains. Those carbs at night wont do too much at your age.

I would tell you this, carbwise, only eat carbs for the activity you are about to do... if you are going to nap, don't eat alot, going to bed, don't eat alot... before crew practice, eat a lot. This is a pretty good rule of thum to keep from having too much carbs during the day, but do make sure that do eat some carbs after practice as well, but eat alot of protein as well. This works for me as it keeps me from getting too many carbs at night. I would not eat too many carbs after 5pm, wouldn't go over 50 grams, and try to keep it down 3 hours before bed, so it has time to digest and be used before all getting stored as fat (when u goto sleep).

Exactly, at 15, you should only be concerned with getting enough protein and eating a well rounded diet with plenty of everything. I am impressed at your diet and knowledge at 15 I must say, this is a key time in your life, Hormones are going to play a large roll in your development and growth and it would be best to prolly be on a moderate everything diet with plenty of cals. I think at 15 I ate at least 3500 cals a day, but I was out running around, skateboarding, etc all day long.

hey guys thanx! i do alot through out the day! going 2 school coming home then going to crew practice! So today i figured up that i need about 2000 cals for my met. then for crew i loose about 1200-1500 cals so i was figuring around 3500 cals is what i should be taking in!

ye u do if u row 10 miles a day were not on water yet we urg! its alot harder to do than running id rather run 15-20 miles then 10 miles on an erg going full out as hard as i can for 60 min. urging u use your whole body! its like weight lifting but u have a cardio mix in it!

It has been calculated that a marathoner only burn about 600-800 calories after running 26 miles ...you are probably burning 3-400 at your practice ....it is partially dependent on you lean mass...you only weigh in at a buck 30 ...now I would probably burn 6-800 calories in the same time span as I weigh in at 245

I know this is not scientific or very high tech but I`ll throw it in. When I`m on my stationary bike, it has those heartbeat moniters and is like a commercial unit it says I burn 1000-1200 calories in about 60 minutes. Is it THAT off? You punch in your age weight etc...

For the love of God eat more carbs. I tried going on a strict diet so I can get big without gaining any excess body fat, it just took longer to get gains. Once I ate whatever I want (as long as there's lots of protein) 6 times a day I started getting gains and didn't get fat. I'm 18, 160 lbs. and eat 240g of protein, 400g of carbs, and 80g of fat a day. Your young, pig out and get big, and don't count calories or how many grams of carbs your getting each day... JUST EAT!
