How much Flax & Fish to improve HDL & LDL

3-5 grams. I thought this was high also, but my doctor who specializes in hormone replacement therapy, general meds and natural medicine told me to run atleast 3, but optimally 5. He told me not only will it improve your hdl/ldl etc, but your immflamation will go down also, which I have found BOTH to be very true. Hell, when I was on accutane at 80mgs a day, 400mgs of primo and had a blood test, my dermatologist was flipping out at the great results - couldn't believe it! It takes about a good month or two for your levels and pain (to go down) to even out...but the trick is to take it everyday for the rest of your life :)
 
you want to go down to the local health store and buy a fish oil suppliment known as "fish oil Omega 3 Fatty Acids." Most fish oil supps all contain the essential fatty acids that you need. Now, here's the difference..If you go into walgreens and buy their (or cvs) crappy omega-3 caps, most likely, it's not the best form and could be bad. How do you know it's bad? When you birp you'll taste fish! Or..your stomach will feel upset. Look for a more quality brand and go with that. I personally like this one that comes in a large black bottle and says "norwegian" omega 3 fatty acids. I can't remember who makes it, but you can't miss it. It's a large ass black non clear bottle. If you have some extra cash to buy, get this brand, "Coromega". It's refrigerated and tastes exactly like orange ice-cream. *yummy*..

I usually go for the quantity so I buy the large black bottle. I take 1 gm in the morning, 1gm for lunch and 1gm for dinner. I didn't honestly think that this would work, but my doc buddy insisted and the proof is in the pudding. You can get flax seed oil also, but you need to digest a whole lot more of that to get the same results. This stuff really works well. It did wonders on my 'tennis-elbow' syndrome when I was lifting heavy. really helps out with the joints in a great way. but like i said, take atleast 3 grams but shoot for 5 if you can, and always take it with some food if it's pill form (coromega is good on it's own).

i would not say that if you burp fish taste its bad.....i have used many brands, from generic to SAN....they all make me burp that. I am curently using the GND brand and still burping fish.

somthin i was wondering is there any other way to get the omega's without taking fish oil? i seriously VOMIT if i smell fish, i dunno why... if i tasted it i think i would probably be sick for a month, lol. thanks bro's!
