how much do you deadlift

Interseting topic that I found cause I just maxed out in deadlifting about 2 hours ago. 495 for 1 rep..It wasnt that tough but then I tried 545 too soon after and it was like no way!! I am a powerlifter and we use the westside system so we never deadlift for consecutive reps..You always want to stop and reset your position between reps and you can do singles with rest in between.

Was in Nashville on Saturday, first time doing any gym lifts in about three weeks and first time deadlifting in a couple of months. I easily pulled 585 with no belt or straps or suit. Had a good bit more in me, probably 625 or so gearless...but my hips are still sore from my contest last weekend. I guess I can always speculate...but it means nothing unless I actually did it huh?

Not the man..but in progress. I hear a rumor of someone pulling 820 or something crazy as of late. Maybe just a rumor. I'd like to pull 700 with only a belt. That would be awesome.

My best workouts, which I did just a few weeks ago were 500lbs for 3 sets of 5, 525 for 3x3, 575lbs for a single.
I am a bodybuilder and don't believe in belts and such so no belt were used on these, just some chalk.

Deadlifts...

625 x 1 - belt and chalk only. In competition with full gear I hope to pull 650+. I can pull either Sumo or Conventional but I do a little more conventional. I'm with BFold, I want to pull 700+.

did 275 for 10 last week. 5'10" 180lbs nat
haven't tried a 1RM before...it would probably be somewhere between 350 and 400 i'm guessing.

350 for rep is my best, but damn if it ain't murder on my lower back, i like to stay in the 300 range and do hyperextensions with 100 pounds for 10-15 reps

my deadlift sucks..

only 315 (it'll be 335 at my contest w/ only a belt).. im 14, and weigh 132 :( im such a feather weight

not a great puller but DEADS are my favorite lift as of late. Pulled 550 at a meet at 215 bw and am going for 585 in the gym soon - gotta love 6 plates on the bar! ;)

Just saw Mark Henry pull 885 x 2 at the Arnold Strongman event this weekend - amazing. Granted, the weights were train wheels, slightly taller than a plate for a higher starting point BUT 885, give me a break!

225 for reps has been my best...I haven't maxed out on deadlifts for a long time. Hopefully I will get the weight up, though. :)

Pull sumo style. Was up in the 470-480 range for 7 reps a while ago, now doing high reps. Last week was 435 for 13, failed on lockout on rep 14. Full reset with pause between reps.

Night fly, that very good. Never have seen a woman do over 135 lbs in my gym.

Night Fly is a good deadlifter. Being a good puller means that you have to be a bit psycho in the gym with an attitude. She pulls well...and loves it when the boys stare at her in her tight blue spandex pants:) Haha..

Somehow managed to do 2 sets of 5 reps with 225 last night....after doing 135 for 5. I think I had another set of 5 in me. Slowly but surely the weight has to go up....one way or another.. :)

B fold...I don't wear those so guys will look at me! lol. They are comfortable...yeah, that's it. ;)

4 months ago - 455 x 2

After going to the Arnold Classic on Saturday, I was doing some functionals and tested my deadlift at the end.

Pulled 475 x 1

Shoulder width stance, mixed grip, chalk, no belt.

Plan on starting a serious 6 week program in about 3 weeks. Hope to get 500+.

mekannik, we are the same height and weight. Throw on a belt and work the deads hard once a week and that 500 will be yours. 5 plates was such a MENTAL barrier for me not too long ago and now I am 5 pounds short of 6 plates. Rip it man!

:)

Just short of 400 (WILL have it by the end of June!!).

Clean (natural) and raw.

5'9'', 170lb female.

spatterson, that rocks. nice to meet hannibal and yourself in stl two weeks go. before i met you and night fly, i thought i could deadlift.

got 475 with belt and wraps out of a rack at 188 bw, threw out the rack and wraps and got 455 off the floor at the end of a back workout a couple weeks ago. got 505 on partial sumo, app 18 inches off ground this week, those sumos feel funky, but nice for a change.
btw i weigh 220 now.

Right at 500...on the road back to 600+. Its a long road back...but once you've been there its a little easier to find your way back.

As an added bonus....I get to watch Spatts Deadlift ;)

good job hannibal, with the drive it seems you have, i should say the drive and intelligence. i am sure you will be at 6 soon. b true has told me many good things about u.

Best pull is 450@150.

In 15 days I will better that in a meet to make it count. I will go 450+ @146-148 bw.

Being the fact that I weigh only 150 lbs I don't think I have to state whether I am a natty or not, lol. Unless I got duped by my dealer.

Not sure how much of what he says is true...but thanks.

I'm too chicken shit to find out my max. However, I'll work up to 405-415 for singles during my workout. Thats VERY heavy for me, and I doubt I could do more then 440 for my max. I'm only 175 lbs though.

myself 425 for 5

515x1. I'm afraid to try to do anything more due to pain in my lower right back that I think may be disc-related, as it acts up when I squat as well.

Grrrr........

Just hit a personal best of 3 sets 5 reps on 530lbs, no belt or straps, should be able to single over 600lbs now, just haven't gotten around to it

Does not wearing a belt make the DL much harder? I always wear one b/c I just feel more comfortable. I thought it would serve more of a mental support then a physical one, but I see a lot of you pull without one. Is that more beneficial?

I think initially you pull more with one, but once your stabilizer muscles have a chance to catch up it seems the same, at least to me. I've also been doing it without a belt for 3-4 years now

A belt, used properly, will increase the amount of weight that you can pull...but I am constantly training my weakest link...

When contest day comes around...you better believe I'll wear my belt and straps if they allow it.

Hmmmm...225 maybe...after 2 years of squatting.

501 for 1. no belt no straps no chalk no suit.
gonna try sumo and different grips I want 650 by the time i turn 24.....thats about 2 years away

Fuck!, some of you guys lift heavy!

I hit 405x6 today and thought I was doing pretty good. Allthough,I've never tried any heavier.

My gym doesn't allow chalk...yea I put my left hand over and my right hand under. It helps somewhat.

Currently 550lb.......I weigh 206.

For what its worth thats clean, no belt......just chalk.

With the pins set at knee cap height in a cage I can do partials with 700+........needless to say I'm weak breaking the weight off the floor.

Last time I tested it - 615 with belt before I started to train PL'ing
style. Hope to pull 660 pounds at 220 pounds of body weight in
my first meet later this summer.
