How many WORK sets?

I know a lot of PL's who do anywhere from 0 to 4-6 worksets per BP. I was just wondering how many actual WS do you guys do per BP?

For back, chest, and legs, 12 - 14 working sets. For triceps 10 - 12, and for biceps 6 - 8. All these are done with low reps, 4-6, for the most part. Then for shoulders I do two pressing exercises for 6-8 reps, plus a couple light sets each of side, front, and corner raises.

True...there are many more 'working sets' in PL. You are training the lift or you are working on accessory movements to promote strength and betterment of the particular lift (Squat, Bench, Dead). For example, a set up may be as follows:

DE Squat (Dynamic Effort Squat)
*this day is devoted to working on one's speed and stamina. The thought is that to perform two repetitions (of the squat) in the time it takes to perform one competition squat in a meet - you will have the speed and explosiveness to perform that competition squat at the maximal weight you desire.

One may be doing a dynamic effort movement of Low Box Squats (with or without bands) for 9-10 sets at 2 reps each. Then moving on to Speed Pulls for 6 sets of 1 rep. Next might be weighted hyper-extensions, finishing with pull-thrus and band leg curls.

All of these movements are done quickly - to develop speed and explosiveness which in turn promotes power.

Hope you find that helpful. Take care.
