I'm working it twice. Pleased with the results. However, in an earlier post, I was advised that once a week was preferable.

Any thoughts? :)

i think its good every now and then to work out a muscle more than once a week, just dont do it for too long.

Hmmm .... the problem is, you ask five people and get five different answers. I never know who to believe. Guys at the gym tell me twice a week. Ah hell, I'll give it a try for a few weeks. Do you think I'll see a difference after 3 or 4 weeks?

I blast my chest once a week to failure. I train all body parts once a week ecept for abs which I train 2-3 times a week.

I used to think I needed to do chest 2-3 times a week, then I kicked my ego to the curb, went to once a week, and the results are amazing in comparison

If you are a hardgainer your over doing it. Depends on genetics. Everybody is an expert about their own body. What is right for them might not be right for you. How much do you bench?

Hit it once per week. If you trully work it hard it will take a full week to heal. I have done it twice a week before and did not make any gains. Go with Fantom,s workout, it has worked for me.

Thanks guys. I'll give the once a week chest workout a try. I'll give it a month (or two?) to see the results because I'm not getting the results I want.

Once a week. Less reps and heavy weight and lots of rest works best for me. I'm an easy gainer if I allow myself plenty of rest. It's easy for me to overtrain.

I train everything once a week - even abs (haven't trained those in over a year though haha).

You don't really *need* to train it any more. Try it once a week for 6-8 weeks and you should notice a difference.

The important issue is that you don't want to 'overtrain' your chest (or any other muscle for that matter). I've tried 3x/wk, 2x and once a week. It depends on your own body and how it reacts to training. I assume you are not on gear (if so, you could train a bit more often), so I would try twice a week, if you are careful not to overtrain your Triceps as well.

actually i was working it 2x a week for a while, a few months back, and i progressed better ithink than i did once a week. i was doing it mondays and I think thursdays. I wasn't going as long with the workouts, but i was going mor frequent. I ended up getting my max machine bench up to 270, and was repping 210 i think. Then the wonderful strength killing ketogenic diet came, and i lost no fat but lost a ton of muscle. Now my max is like 230 probably on the machine I use. (i don't do flat bench unless i have someone with me at the gym, i hate asking others for spots)

I see too many guys with disproportunately developed pecs compared to everything else. It just looks dumb... also it gives you bad posture (pulls shoulders forward).
