How many of you lie about your max?

I know some of you do. Fess up.
My best area's are curling and shoulder shrugs.

curl -120 10 reps
shrug - 360 20 reps

Not the strongest, but I believe thats stout enough.
 
Probably lots of people do. I see guys all the time curling 100-115 with the worst form you have ever seen...they should be using like 45. These guys then go tell their friends , "Yeah I curl 115 for 10 reps...and squat 365 for 10", or whatever they tell them. These are the guys that always look the same year after year though. :confused:
 
I do hammer curls with 50lb dumbells..3 sets of 10.. I can probably bench right now around 380...I shrug up to 365 for sets of 12... I only deadlift with 315 for reps of 6-8. My squat we won't talk about..just started again after an injury... I feel no need to lie.... Im not a powerlifter.....
 
I never tell the truth about my squats or bench.


Yeah, of course I can bench 400......
I have an excuse though sortof?
I have never done any cycles, 97% all natural.
 
I WILL NOT SAY WHAT I CAN CURL ON DUMBELLS OR BAR CUZ I GUARANTEE EVERYONE WILL SAY I AM LYING SO I AM GOING TO SAVE MYSELF THE TROUBLE. I'LL JUST GET BIGDOG TO COME TO THE GYM WITH ME ONE DAY AND LET HIM WATCH.

AS FAR AS MY BENCH GOES, ITS NOT THAT GREAT. I WENT UP TO 335LBS FOR 4 REPS ON MY FOURTH SET LAST WEEK.

Even though I hate to admit it Jeff, Bench is a very essential excercise, Chest strength is used for much more than you would think. Plus it's benefits to the triceps and lattisimus are very pleasing.

My bench is what makes me want to juice, because when I see this dudes benching 400 +, I just wanna grab one of those police edition maglites and beat the hell outtof em' even though I know I would get my ass kicked. :(
oh well.
 
I'm not the strongest guy on this board by any means but I'll go ahead and post my max bench. About 3 weeks ago I maxed at 245 lbs. I'll add to that that every lift I do is perfect form. Always using slow controlled movements. (Okay, so I cheat a bit on my last couple of reps sometimes).

Anyway, just wanted to make the point that not every member on here is a strength monster. Be proud of your lifts and track your individual progress instead of measuring yourself against someone with totally different genetics and body mechanics.

Be strong brothers.
 
I never lie about that shit, but I never bring it up either. I always see people cheating in the weight room. The one lift I see done wrong most of the time is shrugs, people usually do too much weight to boost their egos. I don't think you have to go heavy on shrugs. Full range of movement without bouncing is the key.
 
435 bench
495 squat
275 military press
dips with 135 pounds added
chins with 50 pounds added
135 for strict curls
455 deadlift

oh well.

but i do dips 6 days a week, so my chest is ok. Sure chest would bigger when i would bench, but i don't care. It's not that important to me.

Maybe you should concentrate on yourself instead of worrying about what those around you are doing.

I lie about my max's all the time...especially here on Elite.

No prob. I see understand what your gripe is about. I would bitch slap them too if I saw them bouncing and arching :)
