my son has it and will prob take meds for the rest of his life, hes 12, but the thing is, they say it comes from the fathers side, but his dad isnt like that, im more of a forgetful person and i lose concentration on stuff quicker.

I'd guess there's a 65% chance I'd be classified with Adult ADD, but def not ADHD.

I'd never get a script from a doc to 'treat' it though. Same with anxiety, I'd say I have a mild to moderate case but to hell with xanax.

IMO the cure for depression or anxiety comes from within. (Didn't mean to change the topic)

I'd go on the record saying it's phony. I know people who have been 'diagnosed' with it, including children, and I see parenting problems and poor character and decisions at the heart of it. The meds seem to work the same reason narcotics seem to work - the world looks great when you are dopped up.

Read up on the current research with brain imaging. Certain forms of ADD are organic in nature.

I have add, nothing serious but enough where its noticeable....i'm on adderall XL 15mg, i tried strattera but all i got from it was dry mouth, and was never hungry, other than that it didn't do anything.
