I know this is gonna sound stupid, so I apologize in advance. Exactly how do you aspirate? Do you move the needle or just draw back the syringe? If you hit a vein, how would drawing back on the syringe move the needle out of the vein?

You just draw back on the plunger bro. If you get blood, you hit a vein. Pull it out and repeat process.

I do and am glad, because twice in the last three months I got a syringe full of blood.

Its happened to me more than a few times. although it feels strange injecting my own blood back into the muscle.

Caesar, it dont matter, vein or artery, they both carry blood, eventually to the heart (actually, veins carry blood to the heart faster than through arteries).

I hit a vein in the quad last week. I usually allways aspirate but I was in the basement and it was a bit dark. Anyway scared the shit out of me I started getting really dizzy and blacking out. I thought great "my wife will come home to find me dead in the basement with my pants down" But after about 3 minutes my head cleared. Left a hell of a bruise though.

When you aspirate are you supposed to see bubbles coming back into the syringe? I have a really hard time knowing how much to pull the plunger back.

I never used to do it(stupidity-didn't know) but do it all the time now(past couple years) that I have learned more about using gear....but in the past I never did it....

Your blood is "under pressure" If you hit a vein as soon as you pull the plunger back just a little blood will come pouring in. If you see bubbles that is just air you are drawing into the syringe. Not a problem but it sounds like you might be pulling harder then you need to on the plunger.

ok guys you really should not worry about hitting a vein, since they are superficial to the muscle and our intentions are intramuscular. and if for some freak ass reason you happen to some how in some insane way hit a main artery its not like your slashing the bastard in half so don't worry about that. a blood vessel is what are are going to inject in, and in doing so you inter a foreign substance into blood stream which instantly hit all your vital organs and can cause some serious damage especially to the heart and liver. so hell mutha @#$%@! yeah aspirate.
