In this case a beached whale would mean a heavy-set person, male or female, doesn't really matter. You will notice some at the local beach, but more often they are found inland. Usually with a 64 oz diet soda and a large order of fries near them. They tend to travel in packs, may be nocturnal, and always look exhausted, even when sitting for long periods of time.
