For sure bro. So very true! New attorneys coming out of my school were only making $35,000US or so, and working 7 days a week! Fuck it was right. Oh well, if I ever want to practice I can, but I really want to stay in the fitness area!!

Great responses everyone, it nice to know I am not the only one!

That's what happens if you get your law degree in a Cracker Jack box. If you went to a real law school you would not be constrained as such. I doubt they say that leaving Yale law or NYU...

as for me, I manage attorneys for an insurance outsourcing company. (My attorneys aren't practicing law, they just negotiate and advise. And they are paid in excess of 6 figures. Some may see 7.)

Before this I was an IT guy: Cisco shit mostly.

I've also written a technical reference book, and a curriculum for secondary education.

Degree is mathematics, the key to the universe.

dunno about the US but here I went to one of the best Law School in Canada, but sadly we were like 150 to graduate and guess (not to mention another 250 from other law schools). So its hard to get a good job. Of course I could have worked for 20 000$ like a monkey but no way !:D

Gee Wiz Matt, no need to be such a dick! I didnt get my law degree from a Cracker Jack box, how the fuck could you say that if you dont even know where I went? And for your information, my best friend got his law degree from Harvord. He was in the top 15% of his class, and his first job started him at $60,000 a year. Bottom line is this, until you have experience you have to pay your dues.

I passed on starting a practice and refused to work for that little. I sell software and make close to $150,000 a year. A few years back I was making $200,000+ (when the economy was good).

Not sure why you decided to answer my post like you did, I got nothing against you. Shit, I have never even chatted with you before or posted on a thread of yours, whats the deal Matt?

Good point Manny. Thats cool as shit, I had no idea you went to law school!

I'm just about finished a degree in Information Systems. Soon I'll be starting a Commerce degree.

Currently I work for a bank, although none of what I learned in school is applicable there. lol

I really hope the degrees I have will help in finding long-term employment.

I have an AS in biology.

I work as a maintenance foreman for a Park District.

I really should have partied more through college. ;)
