How many here are loners in the gym?

I also work out alone. My only training partner is my music. Always shows up and never late. I just hate when his batteries die before mine do!!!

I go solo, only asking for spots when I need one ....from a trainer or someone who knows what the hell they're doing there.

Loner, definetly. I find that my workouts are more intense with fewer interuptions. I know most poeple so if I want a spot I will just ask....

Was it Arnolt that once said 'no social, no chit-chat just work'?

solo workout

Everyone else has said what I would of said so no need to repeat. Plus the fact that when working solo for so long, then trying to get a partner because someone asks if you want to work out screws things as well. You are used to one thing, and they don't have a clue because they don't workout for themselves. They usually are working out for some other motive like girls, or because it is the "IN THING" to do. Forget that... working out because you enjoy working out is why someone should be working out... for themselves and nobody else.

just some thoughts.

I trained to intense for the guys that were at my gym so I've gotten use to training alone but I keep a watch out for guys that look like they know what they are doing as far as spotting goes. In the ole days guys just didn't understand how serious spotting is when you are inclining over 500lbs. I've seen guys get injured because of inexperienced spotters. I don't think it is their fault for being inexperienced its the guy that picked them.

Solo, I talk to fuck all at the gym and like it that way. I won't even ask for a spot, don't want anyone becoming my 'buddy', which is the downfall of training solo...unable to handle the low rep range with confidence on pressing moves.
Although for the past few weeks I have trained chest with an old training buddy and my bench is blowing up.

That is me, don't see the point in small talk with strangers.

I had the best workout partner before and then he moved away, now it's just me. I love being by myself and doing my thing. As for having something to inspire you....I think having your top weight on the bar and knowing that you're the only one who's around to get it off your chest is pretty inspiring...do it or die, lol. I find it much easier, I don't go to the gym to find women or see friends, if I see someone I know and they're around when I'm done then fine otherwise a wave is all you get from me. Nice to see so many people doing it on their own.

I work out alone, but there are some guys there that I see every night, so we always call on one another for a spot here and there. I stay more focused when I train alone and don't talk to anyone. I like to get in, train my ass off and get out so I can come home and eat. So many people there spend more time chatting than training.

Retired bodybuilder Mike Francois trains at my gym, I'm thinking about hiring him as my personal trainer (if I can afford it).
