How many here are loners in the gym?

I workout alone half the week. The other half I go with my girl. She's a good workout partner and I like the motivation we give to each other.

loner

I am also a loner. The only drawback is no spotter. I try to use dumbells for as much as possible when lifting heavy, so I can cut them loose if I have to. I am severely self motivated in the gym. Isn't that what the mirrors are for...

You're right yellowdog. I can get through a workout quicker alone, but that last rep is sometimes unsafe. Have to ask for a spot for the 1-rep max attempt on the flat bench.

I feel you guys on the lifting alone, it's nice not having distractions, and someone holding you back, or slowing things up for ya, but there's always the time when you have to have the spot. One things that really pisses me off, is when someones asks to work out with you and then they can't keep up or won't keep up, and then it's your fault, that' some BS,

Loner. It's much quicker and more productive. Besides, Here in NY everybody has a big attitude. I rather not deal with it!

Quicker, better, faster!!!!

i'm all alone in the gym too, i have a habit of not going to the gym when my partners don't go so i decided just to do it all alone.

I train at home so I'm usually alone...I sometimes get someone to spot me on chest or shoulders but the key ingredient for me is MUSIC. Nice nasty loud music keeps me motivated and gives me the aggression to keep training. Been doing it for almost 2 years at home now.
