How many here are loners in the gym?

I have tried work out partners in the past but they all eventually flake out. I can't find anyone friends or whatever dedicated enough now to stick with or keep up with me. Just wonderd how many here train solo and what do you do to keep motivated?

I cant find a suitable partner as well. Most of the time I actually like being alone. I stay more focused. Let a walkman be your partner.:D

I have the same problem bro. I know guys that go the gym often enough, but they don't like to lift heavy or with any intensity

Yeh, I fly solo on this mission as well. I don't even as much as look at other people in the gym let alon talk to or train with them. I can't train with a partner. There are some intense bros at the gym who know what they're doing there, but I like to go it alone. I don't like any distractions what-so-ever. I've been known to wear ear plugs to drown out all noise when I train.

I work out alone and dont mind it. I like my pace and rhythm that I have set. Besides, after working out for over 10 years alone, I'm just used to it.

As far as motivation...well, working out is a passion, so that's the most powerful motivation. It's just part of me.

I agree with contraction

I like to workout alone and if you wanna get bigger, that's enough motivation in and of itself-- I don't need a partner. All a partner does to me is throw off my concentration and my timing. even hate when someone (and I'm guilty of it myself) ask me if the can work in with me b/c I keep a strict watch on the amount of time I take between sets.

It's really cool seeing all your friends in the gym, but I never get nearly as good workouts.

So I prefer to workout by myself, I can do what I want, when I want, without people screwing up my in between set time.

One of the reasons I am looking forward to moving to be with my GF is that I know I will have a solid workout partner. I haven't been able to find one who will stick to a schedule.

I'm pretty much a loner.

I probably wouldn't make a great partner since I can't really committ to being at the gym at a consistent time. I get all my workouts in, but I have to work them in around whatever else is going on.

I really try to be "all business" at the gym. If I start flapping my jaws, I end up being there too long and I want to get done in an hour.

There are some motivational people that work out there that I mostly just say hello to. I draw motivation from seeing other guys busting their asses like I am.
