How Many Black People are in Positions of Power?

Besides the token blacks like Colin Powell (who just like most of the black people that were given power in the early days is very light-skinned), Condoleezza Rice and Rod Paige?

After those seats were given away to token minorities (albeit well-qualified candidates), there is not many blacks in position of power ESPECIALLY in the Republican party.

My question is; Why are there black people not represented equally (in respect to their ratio in the total population)?

Blacks in America have much more political power than financial/economic power. Take Atlanta for example - the last four mayors have all been black as well as a good portion of the city council. However there are few powerful black business leaders, with a handful of notable exceptions like Herman Russell and Jesse Hill. The money (banking/financial services firms) is still controlled by whites so a black man, no matter how powerful, still has to go thru a white man to get anything done.
