I decided to order from a domestic source and it has been over 2 months. I am in contact with him and he returns all of my emails but I am getting a little frustrated w/the turnaround time. I have never ordered supplies before so I don't know what the average or better yet an acceptable turnaround time is. Any thoughts? Should I just shut up and wait patiently?

2 months is too long unless he told you it would take a while before you sent him funds. 2 months domestic is TOO long to wait. If he is returning e-mails that is good, but not definitive proof.

My guy gets stuff that he does not usually carry, special order stuff, to me in 5-7 weeks.....
Like I said the domestic scene is a mess right now...He probably placed his order with a mid-sized operation who places their order through the main guy who got busted.
His source may not scam him but is probably trying to find a new bulk supplier to fill the orders.

This is exactly what my source told me. He was refferred to me by a VERY respected person whom I have done other business with in the past so....

Bro, I am sorry to hear you have money tied up...It is unfortunate but join the club. Why would you change suppliers if you already had a good source that you have done business with in the past?
Sorry I was not specific enough. The person that gave me the refferral was not a source. I purchased other items from him. As I said I have never placed an order for gear before as I normally just make the trip to the border myself. I will say that the person who pointed me in the direction of the source I am currently using is a very well known and respected bro.

I hear ya bro. If your source takes money for something he does not have in stock he is an ass! So far my domestic guy tells me what he has from my order and when the other stuff will be in. He never makes me send money for something that is not in UNLESS I want to send it and wait for it to get to him.

A source I know waits until he gets enough orders to make a border run worth his while, then he drives down. Tells everyone that it can take a month or so to get the gear, but he always comes through. Middlemen, on the other hand, are relying on sources like the one I know to supply THEM. So it is easy to see why it takes so long to get your stuff. Good luck, I hope Santa brings it for ya.
