I just checked the court website today... I'm offically divorced as of 3 July 2008... the day before Independance Day!!! LOL
Weird concidering it started in 2004... While I was in the Middle East the first time.
How it started:
She (ex) moved in with a guy, sold our house, and brought my daughter to live with the abusive boyfriend...
My daughter was confused and asked why all this happened.
The excuse she gave my then 4 year old daughter was,' Your Daddy is prob. not coming home."
How it ended:
I had 100% custody, for most of the past 4 years. My parents watched my daughter while I was away. Mom just got 50% custody but, my address is my daughter's home of record. Mom hops around too much. I have the right to requesta drug test at her expence any time I want, she liked the vicodin abit much.
She tried to get '1/2' of my truck...I'm also a contractor w/ my own business.
But the lawyer was able to make her rethink that one since all I wanted was the divorce, if she opened that door she would have to owe me for the following:
1. Almost 3 yrs. back child support.
2. I put her thru law school, and her education up to that point.
3. She sold the house, and took everything in it. Except for some of my clothes, the ones I had when I deployed.
4. Fixed her teeth
5. Paid for her boob job... which I told her at the time she didn't need but, if it made her happy I would.
6. The Tahoe LX I bought for her, because she wanted it and it made her happy.
4-6 not so much... but it sounded good when she was told. She was pro per, she stiffed her own lawyer for moneies owed.
Also, she is working off the books (making damn good money), and using Social services programs saying she was a single parent, how her daughter doesn't have health care, etc...
I'm in the military, my daughter is covered thru me, and so was she for the past 4 years. The Govt. already has started an investigation. Every time I renew my security clearance they do a thorough investigation.
They thought it was kinda strange that she owned a brand new top of the line car, etc...
I really did love her at one time, between the vicodin, and the mental issues developed from it's abuse she has changed into a different person.
Anyway, I was very excited and had to tell someone, I can't say anything to my daughter about it. Not the kinda talk you have with you child.
