One thing I have yet to find out is when you are a trainer....how does it work with gyms? Say I am an independent trainer not a bally's employee for example. I get client A that wants me to come to golds and train her twice a week. Client B who wants me to train him at The "fitness connection" once a week. Client C three times a week at Bally's.
How does this work for me? What do I have to do? DO I have to get a membership to all these friggin places?

My bro gave me his trainers info to contact so I could pick his brain but I havnt talked to him yet. Just curious.

If you're doing these deals with the private gyms, you're better off picking a home base and bringing all of you clients there - the last thing you want is to go through big gaps in your day where you're commuting, etc.

Also, having a home base gym will allow you to form good relationships there and start to market to it's members - the more time you spend at one place, the better you'll do there. People will see you training and ask you questions, try to put up posters and brochures, etc.

Just get a few clients and you'll be fine - 3 clients turn into 10 very quickly - at that point you can start doubling up clients and earn even more -

Look you already have the physique part handled which is a big plus - just learn all of the client getting and time management stuff and you'll take off big time.

So I'm on the Right Track! yes.

you have to pay the gym a % of your fees if your not a "gym employed" trainer. good luck with that! most gyms like their own peeps to train members... only Golds or a hardcore BB gym has independent PTs.

Yeah I was just throwing out examples of gyms. I dont really know how I want to go at that part yet. Basically it will either be my gym 6 miles from me or one of many large gyms or smaller meat head gyms 30 minutes away from me. Either way i dont care. If its here one day and there another day I dont mind. Its just that dreaded getting the first few people.

Most of the trainers in my area are fat turds or skinny jackasses. Even if they know what they are talking about. I never understood why you would want to be trained by a person who doesnt physically inspire you.

Burn Come work with me. I'm starting a gym, and building it in 3 or 4 months. No AC, tractor tires, sledge hammers, tow boat ropes, parachutes, etc....

Yeah - if you're going into a private gym that has other outside trainers, don't be worried - be professional and spend some time marketing and work with the owner to help you promote and you should be able to kick ass -

Most independent trainers are lazy, do not market, and have low standards - if you're the opposite, you should kick ass -
