How Do You Take Wallpaper Down??

Me and my friend got into last weekend and I literaly through him into a wall. The problem is the wall had wallpaper on it and were going to have to take it off the whole wall now. In order for it to come off the easiest what are you supposed to soak it in??

That or just plain old water and I think vinegar....if you don't have vinegar just use water.

Get a pressure sprayer tank (the kind gardeners use to apply pesticide to plants) and spray down the area you are working on and let it soak in. After about thirty minutes, apply water again. Check the wallpaper and see if starts peeling then start peeling it off. You will need a putty knife in some areas but this should work. Be careful not to damage the wallboard (sheetrock) or you will have one big mess on your hands.

If it were me, I would move. I'm way too lazy to remove wallpaper. It would be easier for me to just look for a new place to live.

You need to go to Home Depot or Menards or something and get a tool that perforates the wall paper. You should then be able to pull it off in strips.

Yup rent steamer and then there's a tool (I can't remember the name of it to save my life) that makes little holes in the paper so that the steam can get under the wallpaper.

Yep, like ms.v said, a steamer and the tool is called a paper tiger.

It works good, but it's still a pain to do.

Save yourself some headaches...RENT THE STEAMER MENTIONED ABOVE!

(Be sure you put the-primer type crap on before you
re-wallpaper- IF you plan on reapplying wallpaper. It makes it easier the next time for removal)

I helped my best pal remove wallpaper one weekend. We took more drywall off than wallpaper. Her hubby could have killed us when he saw our mess!!!!
