remixing can be done several ways... you can beatmap a song in acid and then add your own loops to it, or sample loops from the same song and add them... generally when someone is doing a remix with just vinyl they have 2 copies of it going simultaneously... if i were going to remix something for someone professionally i would ask for the individual tracks and then chop and reinstate and prolly add my own tracks just because i am an ass like that.
