how do you fight your cold symptoms

5grams of vitamin C with a glass of OJ and a box of Zicam nasal swabs.

you do not "sweat out a cold," if you mean running and sweating as in playing basketball. it just doesn't work that way. the body has to rid itself of the virus and usually takes 1-2 weeks. in this time period the uncomfortable symptoms occur as the body fights it: low grade fever, congestion, runny nose, and coughing towards the end to clear out mucus.

if you mean "sweating out a cold" as in letting it runs its course than i see your point.

"going out in the cold" may not be a great move when you are sick it has nothing to do with the virus itself. you will not catch a cold from a draft or a change in the weather, you will catch it from someone that is infected.

Can't believe nobody mentioned Garlic. It rocks for keeping the cold away. I would guess that it helps to kills bacteria that attack you when your immune system is weakened by a cold virus.

Also, regarding cold weather. The actual cold weather doesn't make you sick, but the exposure to cold weakens the immune system I'm sure.

Run. I know it probably doesn't make ANY sense and I never actually tried to figure out why but when I was in the Army, they'd still make us run no matter how shitty you felt. Somehow I would always feel better.

actually, it does make sense. running boosts your immune system. unfortunately, weightlifting lowers your immune system.

I dont know but running has helped me and so did vitamin c, I'm gonna try garlic here too, its not like any of this is really gonna make the cold worse so why not try it

also cold weather just gives me runny nose which leads to rest of bad stuff like headaches, sore throat, feeling completly like shit so thats the thing that I want to avoid the most

so far so good though

scon the running may have temporarily cleared out your sinuses while your heart rate and body temp was elevated. it may or may not shorten the duration of your cold.

garlic has never been proven to stop the common cold. if it was, don't you think it would have been marketed by drug companies? the FDA is tough on claims like this.

garlic may alleviate some of your symptoms. chicken soup broth is good for relieving congestion. but it ain't a cure either.

cold weather does not give someone a cold. cold weather will bring more people inside together, like to movies, xmas parties, and airplanes. more people in close proximity allows the rhinovirus to spread like wildfire.

there are about two hundred rhinoviruses that cause the common cold. this is one of the reasons it has been so tough to find a cure.

microorganisms are clever and have learned over time how to reproduce successfully. they travel by sex, food, and water as well as airborne viruses such as the cold and flu.

scon i hope you are feeling better soon.

respectfully iwgy, this is not true. how could lifting weights possibly lower your immune system? what is more likely to lower your immune system is lack of sleep and poor diet.

Running and lifting places stress on your body which increases cortisol levels. Cortisol suppresses the immune system.

you can only absorb so much vitamin c in a day...maybe break the doses up 500mg in morning then 4 hours later or something like dbols....i havn't read much into ester C but that basically sounds like timed released vitamin C correct? i hardy ever get sick but i take multivitamins and C religiously...one time i got sick when i was on tren and dbols...i stopped them and recovered fast with just the test in me
