How do the IFBB pros pay for their cycles?

Most of them spend $5000 at the least for a cycle and some all the way up to $25,000 for their pre contest cycles as I have heard. The top pros thast win should have no problems paying for their cycles from the endorsements they get, guest appearances, and the money from the competitions they win. But what did they do to get the money before they were at the top and what about the ones that never win competitions. Some of you will say they sell illegal drugs which is true but that is a small percentage of them as some of you will say they are gay prostitutes and make porn movies which also is a very small percentage of them. How do they pay for all those years of cycles and supplements.

Sugar Daddy, Gay Prostitutes, Sell Drugs, Modeling (for gays and magazines) and combos of all.

I saw an article one time where an up and comming pro was living at this guy's house who had a total gym built on the property (very nice real estate BTW) just for him to work out on. I doubt he was being this generous if there was nothing in return.

Gross "sport" in my opinion. Takes an essentially beneficial hobby and turns it into a beauty pagent for humans drugged to the max. Needless to say I'm not a fan.

Pro BB get thousands of dollars for mags and endorsments. Metrx, muscle tech, prolab and everyother major company represent many BB. BB's live on these types of incomes. Photo shots and appearances are their bread and butter.

Also gettin paid to do articles saying they are natural and how bad AS are for you. LOL

I don't doubt that a 'few' can live on these incomes. Up and commers and other guys who don't command top premiums must pay for yearly expenses estimated at 65-100K+ yearly for gear alone.

Let's see:

$100,000 gear expense (after tax) means $135,000 before tax (rough).

Cost of food has got to be another $10,000 at least so $13,500.

Cost of living even modestly in Southern California (not being subsizdized by another male refering to you as Bruth) $15,000 BT $20,000 AT (figure he's got a cheap car and some regular examptions somewhere).

Before tax income is close to $160,000 living very modestly and not traveling. How many of these guys do you think make this kind of money? Bodybuilders are a dime and dozen and only the top guys get big checks. How many of these supplement endorsements generate income like this?

This is real rough and it's just my opinion but I feel that I'm being way generous on living and food and I doubt I'm off by much on drug expenses. They have alternative income subsidies from sources which are not made public for a reason as it would be either embarrasing and/or illegal.

Not all bodybuildes get endorsements. What about the ones who are not at the top, the ones with ugly faces who cant get modeling jobs and the ones who dont get paid by the mags.

Wealthy familys! BB at that level are not for the hurtin.
read that some weight train am then pm and set around cooking and eating natural food(which cost more)+max sleep. Also I don't think many BB sell drugs. most BB don't go up to the local mexi drug store for gear. they have doctors. They probably work deals with there docs for gear. Not try n to say there all rich but don't understand there income problems. Put it this way if you don't have bank then it's near impossible!

OK here's one for experience - I've personally known a pro (not a top name but up there, been in mags some, and won some lower level shows) been to his house. I was friends with the pro's source so I knew quite a bit about how much he used and sold. Needless to say it's a sick sport but I will say this guy didn't sell his ass.

What planet are you from?

Alot sell drugs bro. At least juice. Doctors cant supply these guys with enough drugs for their cycles-that's rediculous I can see a doc writing for 600mg of deca and 2000mg of cyp per week. Ahh-no.

This friend of mine had a lot of ways of making money. He wasn't a top pro but on his way to it. He sold gear, sold cycles and training plans (you can't imagine how many people pay hundreds of bucks for a proper cycle and a training plan) he had an income from a Gym as a trainer and made more money as a personal trainer. He got cash from Tv apearances and finaly he opened his own Gym together with another guy... without putting a dime for this partnership, the other guy runned with all the expenses and this friend of mine the only thing he put was his name. Besides, I never saw him pay for a meal, he was always surrounded by some bootlickers willing to pay for everything as long as this guy showed up with them. Oh, and I forgot there were elder women paying him alot of money for some "favors". Fact is: He had enuff money for his cycles and then some!

By now he is no longer in the game. Party drugs and his way of life dragged him down.
