How do I convince my PA to put me on HRT with my Test score in the 270s?

I was tested a couple of years ago by a different doctor and I was in the very low 300s. The doc wouldn't even talk to me about that not being a normal result for a 30ish guy.

Fast forward, I was tested a couple of weeks ago and now I'm in the 270s. At first my PA told me I was low but normal. When I followed up with a visit, he actually looked at my number instead of just the "normal" on the sheet of paper. He agreed that that was low for my age, especially since it's getting lower. He said he would call his endocrinologist and talk to him before he did anything else.

I can't believe that my results are normal. I've read a little bit on this and have found out that "normal" is just the range where most people that get tested by that lab fall into. If I'd been this low a couple of years ago, I WOULD HAVE been below normal. F*&K!!

How the hell do I convince this guy to start me on HRT?!?! When he says he has to talk to his endo, what other tests is this guy going to order up for me? I had been taking some zinc and other herbal supplements as a band-aid but I've stopped because I don't want to screw up my chances.

I have started B12 shots to help the fatigue (brought on my low test). Will that show up on a test? Any chance of that causing problems with future tests?

At that level find yourself a good endo. Especially if you are having symptoms. You are slowly KILLING yourself by not tending to a medical need.

keep calling the office to see if he has called his endo. will keep him moving on it not falling to the side

The PA misread my first lab. I was a 130. My second lab was a 160. So I guess downing a 6-pack and getting 4 hours of sleep the night before didn't actually lower it. All's good, I've been referred to an endo.

Dr are like attorneys just keep going to another one until you find one that will take your case and your money! LOL Took me a while too.

I would think this would constitute a clear case of mal-practice!

How long did it take him to figure out the 1st test result was 130? There are health issues that occur with this low level. I suppose it might be hard to prove damages. Maybe you where so tired all the time that you lost your job etc...impacts.

Sounds like you are on the right path now. Good luck to you!

Man i have been putting off getting bllod done, with work and kid's i wasn't feeling all that bad xept for no drive went in last wed and thursday the doc called my wife and told her i needed to come in and get a sample my test was 180!!!!!!
