I was tested a couple of years ago by a different doctor and I was in the very low 300s. The doc wouldn't even talk to me about that not being a normal result for a 30ish guy.
Fast forward, I was tested a couple of weeks ago and now I'm in the 270s. At first my PA told me I was low but normal. When I followed up with a visit, he actually looked at my number instead of just the "normal" on the sheet of paper. He agreed that that was low for my age, especially since it's getting lower. He said he would call his endocrinologist and talk to him before he did anything else.
I can't believe that my results are normal. I've read a little bit on this and have found out that "normal" is just the range where most people that get tested by that lab fall into. If I'd been this low a couple of years ago, I WOULD HAVE been below normal. F*&K!!
How the hell do I convince this guy to start me on HRT?!?! When he says he has to talk to his endo, what other tests is this guy going to order up for me? I had been taking some zinc and other herbal supplements as a band-aid but I've stopped because I don't want to screw up my chances.
I have started B12 shots to help the fatigue (brought on my low test). Will that show up on a test? Any chance of that causing problems with future tests?
