How did you meet your partner?

For those who met online....was the initial meeting strange? Was it like how you thought it would be after spending time chatting online?
 
My husband was his boss

the husband hired him to do tree work on a piece of property I owned.

The day i was served by the now ex...I went straight to his house and shagged his brains out

Initially met him through friends, he built the bar that I used to drink at, so we started hanging out..Got really trashed one night and knocked on his window and uhm here we are still together.

Wife was in her 2nd year ER residency and I was an ICU trauma nurse. We met in the ER during a gruesome trauma; I thought it was sexy as fuck watching her control the entire room and save the guys life.

random fucking around and stole 250k from me
plus when he served me he locked me out of the house (all of my stuff was in it) took away my two children, one of which wasn't his child, threatened to shoot me if I showed up to get them, called my credit cards in stolen, cleaned out my bank account, dropped my health insurance, cancelled my cell phone online and removed the plates from my cars..he is bipolar and has anger management issues. I used to be exceptionally independent and this pissed him off to no end...so he thought he'd teach me a lesson.

He did. Never trust anyone with my shit or my kids.
I now consider it 250k well spent.
 
Oh, and I owned the house...and purchased it without his help and the sale of property I owned before meeting him.
Its funny that he held up the divorce over the house but not his kid.

I wish someone that one would just drop dead because he's a bane on society. I didn't have two nickels to rub together when I met/divorced him.

I weirdly get along with the one that fleeced me financially.. ironically I bailed him out from losing that very same house to back taxes knowing full well he'd never do the same.
 
yeah...he's largely good to her and shes seeming to be doing better in the environment without a bazillion siblings
dude doesnt scare me anymore like he used to...probably because his right to own firearms was revoked some time ago.
 
The car my first (now ex) husband and I owned broke down. The ex was a skinflint and didn't have any form of autoclub so he called the only person he knew who had a tow bar -- his former brother in law. It was basically love at first sight that turned into a four year affair, culminating in two divorces. After 20 years we're still together, married for 12 of them.
 
she was the prettiest girl i ever saw...we had never been introduced...i walked into where she was working one day and just asked her out...i could tell she wanted to say no, but she said yes...that was my last "first date"...october 21, 1989...best 24 years of my life since then :)
 
K and I worked together at a water park in highschool. I was a lifeguard, she worked in concessions. One day a tornado blew through the park and after we got everyone out, the lifeguards took shelter in the concrete food stand. She introduced herself and offered to make me a fountain drink. Been together ever since.

only awkward part was the Police officer at DIA yelling at me for blocking traffic while kissing her in the passenger pickup area.
