How can you tell if a bottle of wine is any good?

Once again jackangel and jerktits have become the same person in my mind and I was confused by the different avatars.

Also, that wine that supersizeme is talking about - it sure sounds like I have had about a case of that every night for the past year.

Kendall Jackson makes some inexpensive good wines.
Rosemount as well.
Luce? Lucienda? One of those might be right. I think it's a Cab.
Blue Rock Cabernet.

isnt that supposed to be more of a fruity wine? it sounds better than shitty bitter dry wine

It's been so long since I have been to Spain. I can't remember if there is wine in acutal sangria. I just remember them bring it out in glass pitchers. We would collect all the fruit in one and eat it later after polishing off many a pitcher.

I know my mother in law (future) really likes that Francis Ford Coppola (sp?) cabernet sauvignon, but I couldn't find any in the place.

And Velvett, I think the place I went to was where this guy gets his stuff when he buys locally, but I have a feeling most of his stuff is imported on his own.

A good wine does not have to be expensive!
You could have bought 5 bottles of good wine for the price you paid for one. I don't know how it is in the states but her most of people that work in the LCBO have a decent knowledge of wine they could help. If that is not the case next time pm me my knowledge of wine is pretty good I am sure I can suggestion somethign the lady will like.

2) I don't live in the States

3) the people at this store very much know their liquor, but unfortunately didn't seem to know about wine other than broad "red is over there, and white is over there" strokes.
