Well, the whole point of doing incline DB presses are to widen your chest, shoulders and get the full stretch and extension in your upper pecs. You get the expansion and if you do slow negatives you get that muscle density that flats will never give you. You've got to have the grip strengh and forearm strength, but that comes with time.....Overall it's just a matter of stability and control and the negatives give you the foundation on that. I don't consider it a big deal, I just know my chest loves them, nothing like that tight deep stretch through the pecs and shoulders when you go heavy.....
