House arrest aint so bad...

people dont learn after the first because the penalties for the first are not severe enough. Not severe at all.

i got:
-weekend in jail
3k fines and court costs
dropped from my insurance company and turned into high risk
liscense restricted for a year (could only drive to work and college)
nasty misd on my record
6 points added to my liscense (for crashing and destroying a guardrail)
name and incident info published in the local paper (public shame times 10, grandparents read that shit)
breathaylzer tests on the weekend for a YEAR (major suck)

i think that is pretty steep for a first offense

My husbnd has had two, his first was about 3-4k in court costs and he lost his license for a year, but applied for a work license so he could drive to and from work. He didnt get anything else. Also we had to apply for SR22 insurance but that was only an extra 25 bucks a month. He didnt even get supervised probation. Nothing.

The SECOND time around was much worse but still not as bad as your situation.

You had it pretty bad for a first offense but I think thats good. You never did it again right? Missouri must be totally different. They treat it like a traffic ticket mostly.

The newspaper thing is hilarious. God Im glad they didnt do that to John. My parents would have died if they saw my husbands name in there. Johnny's parents knew about it, but my parents would freak if they knew my husband had two DUI's since we wed. :worried:

i'd be lying to you if i said i was 100% perfect since then
95% perfect is more like it...still retarded, that 5% could change your life for ever i should fucking know better.
second offense is 30 days in michigan, 3rd offense a yr in county.
my bro's wife's dad is a repeat offender, 7 or 8 duis.
lost his liscense indefinetly, will never drive again...thankfully he is a reformed boozer and big AA member.
now he just works and smokes weed, rides his bike everywhere...fuggin must suck to be 55 and have no driving options

I've never had a DWI and I never will, once i drink (which is rare at best), i get a ride. Sounds like the penalities are fucking crazy. Glad i take the approach that i do.

If your husband is past the age of 12, isn't it about time you drop the 'ny' from his name. Damn, that is a pet peeve of mine.
