Hotmail Accounts--Please read

For those of you with Hotmail accounts and who use them to conduct any important business, I suggest you switch to a secure email server like elitefitness.com, hushmail, or ziplip. Oftentimes, Hotmail's filtering system will direct important emails into the "Junk" folder. If you do not check your Junk folder regularly, you will deletes important emails. Also, be careful with blocking email addresses as well. I haven't seen this problem with other email servers--just Hotmail.

you can change junk filter settings so that hotmail will not do that.

on hotmail, click on 'help'...

you'll see something to do with junk filter settings.

Unless you're sending to another Hush-based system your mail is unencrypted anyway.

Keep a hush based email AND a ziplip...You will inevitably come into contact with guys who only have a ziplip...Therefore you wil need one too...

i had a ziplip account and my addy was "[email protected]". that is until i recieved an email from "[email protected]" (my email!!!) to my EF email account with the message:

and the in the Subject: "Hi".

lol, now that, as far as i'm concerned, completely destroys any trust i would have in it. besides, does anyone know who's running ziplip? i mean for all we know it could be the fucking FBI.

That is because there is a virus going around right now that uses those titles as its headers...

DO NOT open the attachments in those emails...

thanks bro, i definitely appreciate the heads up! i did not know that. but does that mean someone didn't actually send that to my EF addy from my zip addy? which scares me more than a random virus. but there was indeed an attachment in that email, but it was not opened. i never open attachements and always delete any unusual or unexpected email.

It looks to me like it works in the same fashion the Klez virus did months ago, in that it "disguises" itself as someone whom you may open the mail from (thus spreading the virus...)

No problem with blocking addresses. I just receive important emails from people with hotmail accounts, I write them back, and I receive an email saying that they never received my reply. I have a hotmail account for personal stuff, and I always have to check the Junk folder, for every now and then, an email I am expecting from someone ends up there.

who knows how secure it all really is, but i do like the way cyber-rights and others 'change' the ip numbers on the headers so even if you send a CR message to a normal email account it arrives with different #'s than normally are on the headers..
