my brother lived in costa rica for almost 6 months. about one month before he moved there, he started dating this girl. their relationship developed very rapidly, so he was sad to leave. however, he went, had an awesome time, and now he's back and still dating the same girl. their relationship is stronger than ever.

so, it may be a tough obstacle to overcome, but if the relationship is meant to be, you'll be able to survive a semester of living apart. just have a good time in the meantime...
