I was curious to see how many people work out at home vs. at a gym. Time is my shortest commodity, so I opted to build a gym in the house, complete with 0-150 lbs dumbells, bar assortments, bench and incline press, treadmill, and a (damn cannot remember the name) machine that does about 16 exercises. Fairly H/D stuff. I also put in TV/VCR/SAT (complete with 24 x 7 porn - wifey likes it on the incline bench.)

I miss the "scene" in the gym, or at least the site seeing. But, it saves me an hour a day...a very valuable hour.

What's the breakdown here?

when I get a full time job and can get a house with a large room dedicted to my home gym I will work out at home. Right now, I find it way too difficult to concentrate on working out when I can hear phones ringing off the hook, doorbells ringing, the UPS guy out front wants my signature, etc.

For me right now the gym works best for me- its located on the way between my house and my job, i can leave my pager and cell in the car and nobody can find me with 'emergencys'...it works out real nice for me...

BUT when I have the room/money to build a kick ass home gym, complete with soundproof walls so I cant hear any distractions and loaded with everything I need, my gym membership will go away...

I do my cardio in the gym but I have all my weights at home.I can't stand all the distractions in the gym,I gotta nice setup at home.

Working out alone is cool as shit. I get into my zone and am not bothered by anyone. I think going to a gym gives more motivation though. There are lots of people to compete with and there is always a spot to help increase your weights.

home Gym

My home gym is cool but I do not have everything that I need ...

But My time is also constricted so I opt. for the home stuff...

If I could I would have a "home Gym". No jerks wasting time on the peck deck while they're talking about hockey.....

I work out at home also. I'm suprised so far, I was always under the impression that almost everybody here worked out at the gym.

Home, because I dont like people to know I actually work out. I like to pretend that I am just naturally muscular and ripped.
